Cosmetic Injection Consultation

At The Point Meadows Dentistry of Jacksonville, FL we require a cosmetic injection consultation to understand your cosmetic goals, to review your health history, and to review your options before treatment. This will allow us to draft the best treatment plan for your specific needs and wants.

We will provide an in-depth consultation before offering any treatment. This enables you to make up your own mind, in your own time, about whether it’s the right treatment for you. It's important you understand all aspects of cosmetic injections.

It's natural to feel some anxiety, whether it's excitement for your anticipated new look or a bit of pre-treatment stress. Don't be shy about discussing these feelings with Dr. Mularkey.

There will be five steps to your consultation with us!

Common Injection Questions

Do I need a consultation before receiving dermal fillers??
Yes, without a thorough consultation a practitioner will not know what your expected outcomes are or how much product to administer to achieve the results you want. Not having a consultation is risky from a health point of view too, as the practitioner won’t have discussed the risks and side effects with you or be aware of your medical history. Most cosmetic injections take, at minimum, three months to wear off so if you risk having the treatment without a consultation then you may have to deal with unsatisfactory results for a considerable amount of time.

How much does a cosmetic injections consultation cost?
This will vary from different clinics – Point Meadows Dentistry a thorough consultation with our Doctor is complimentary and includes a detailed analysis of your skin, a full clinical assessment, and a comprehensive treatment plan. Some clinics offer free consultations, but it is unlikely that a practitioner will be able to gain the detailed information needed to produce the optimum results during a free consultation. A free consultation is highly unlikely to include a skin imaging analysis, for example.

New patients can also receive 10% off their FIRST Cosmetic Treatment at Point Meadows Dentistry.

Why is a Doctor better for cosmetic injections or fillers, than a nurse or other spa staff?

The main risk from nurses or other spa staff administering the drug without the necessary training is when adverse reactions occur. When not anticipated, these can be big trouble, especially if the facility's “supervising physician” is offsite. Your doctor should conduct a full consultation, review your medical history, and construct a plan to provide the safest and best results – other staff members simply do not have the years of experience and expertise that physicians do.

Additional medical training is important for injections. It is a specialized medical procedure that requires medical education in the anatomy and physiology of the facial muscles, nerves, blood vessels, etc. One must know exactly where to place the needle and how much filler to use. If the location is off by just a quarter of an inch, the result may cause the eye to close or the eyebrow to droop.

Don't worry, all Injections and fillers are performed by our licensed doctors.
