Meet Liliana
Liliana is a Registered Dental Hygienist with nearly a decade of experience in the dental field. Originally trained as a dentist, she earned her Doctor in Dental Medicine degree from the University of Medical Sciences in Ciego de Ávila, Cuba. After relocating to the United States, she began her career as a dental assistant before advancing to earn her RDH license in February 2023.
Her diverse training gives her a deep understanding of oral health, periodontal care, and patient comfort—something patients feel immediately during their appointments.
What She Loves Most About Her Work
For Liliana, being a Dental Hygienist is more than cleaning teeth—it’s restoring confidence. She finds joy in:
-
Helping anxious or fearful patients feel comfortable
-
Answering questions, building trust, and easing dental worries
-
Treating complex periodontal cases and watching patients transform
-
Guiding people toward a healthier smile they feel proud of
Seeing a patient return after a deep cleaning with healthier gums, improved confidence, and a genuine smile is what motivates her every day.
Her Journey, Her Family, and Her Life Outside the Office
Liliana was born and raised in Ciego de Ávila, Cuba, a bright coastal city known for its warm spirit and Caribbean beauty. Moving to the United States was a life-changing chapter, and Florida quickly became the place that reminded her most of home. After recently relocating from Tampa, she has already fallen in love with Jacksonville—the sunshine, the community, and the feeling of belonging make it a place she’s excited to build a future.
Family has always been the center of Liliana’s world. She grew up in a very small, close-knit town where everyone looked after one another. Her grandparents, now in their nineties, remain two of the people she admires and cherishes most, along with her parents and younger brother. Though life in Cuba wasn’t always easy, it was filled with joy, support, and strong values—kindness, resilience, and a deep love for people—qualities that continue to guide her both personally and professionally.
Outside of dentistry, Liliana lives a full and vibrant life. She loves going to the gym and lifting weights, cheering on baseball and basketball teams, and learning all the ins and outs of American football. She enjoys cooking traditional Cuban meals and is always on the hunt for new restaurants and flavors to explore. A self-proclaimed foodie, she says living in the United States feels like being in a “culinary Disneyland,” where every day brings something new and exciting.
And for fellow coffee lovers—Liliana is one of you. She adores coffee so much that she considers herself her own test subject for preventing coffee stains on teeth, trying every tip and trick firsthand before recommending it to patients.
